Day 10: Daisy—Inspired by Brand New’s lyric, “Well if we take all these things and we bury them fast / And we’ll pray that they turn into seeds…” this piece captures the quiet hopefulness of transformation. Day 1: Daisy
I’ve started a personal art project inspired by Brand New’s Daisy. Each day, I’ll create an illustration based on one of the album’s songs or themes, drawing from the lyrics and mood of the record. I wanted to take this opportunity to share my journey with you all and get feedback from fellow fans who deeply connect with the band’s work.
The first piece in this series is my take on the lone fox featured on the album cover. It’s a simple yet striking design, leaning into the aesthetic of vintage American tattoos and early printmaking. I aimed to capture the spirit of Daisy with clean line work and bold textures while experimenting with @retrosupply Riso brushes. I wanted the image to feel raw, timeless, and a little wild—just like the album itself.
This project is a way for me to build up my art skills while creating quick and intentional designs. I’m also exploring a style that combines my love for dark themes with vibrant, minimalist imagery. If you’d like to follow along as I create more illustrations inspired by the songs. I’d love to hear your thoughts and connect with others who are as passionate about this album as me.
Thanks for taking a look! I’m excited to share more soon.
