Day 10: Daisy
Day 10: Daisy
For Day 10, I focused on the song Daisy, which resonates deeply with its themes of renewal and transformation. The lyric that guided my illustration was:
“Well if we take all these things and we bury them fast
And we’ll pray that they turn into seeds, to roots and then grass
It’d be all right, it’s all right, it’d be easier that way.”
This line stood out to me because of its raw hopefulness. It speaks to the idea of taking pain, regrets, or even forgotten parts of ourselves and burying them—not to forget but to allow them to grow into something new and meaningful. It’s a quiet, almost sacred, kind of resilience.
My interpretation depicts hands planting seeds, surrounded by daisies—a visual metaphor for the act of letting go and trusting in the possibility of growth. The act of planting is deliberate and tender, symbolizing the belief that even our darkest experiences can sprout into something beautiful if given the chance.
This piece feels particularly hopeful to me. It’s a reminder that starting over is not just about erasing the past but nurturing it into something brighter.
