Day 4: At the Bottom
Day 4: At the Bottom—Inspired by Brand New’s lyric, “A deer that a hunter shot in the heart,” this illustration captures quiet strength in tragedy. A poised deer, pierced by an arrow, reflects the album’s raw emotion. Designed with bold outlines and vintage risograph textures, this series explores Daisy's haunting beauty through minimalistic, nostalgic visuals.

Day 3: Bed
Day 3: Bed—Today’s illustration is inspired by Brand New’s lyric, “You’re a rose and you’re laughing now.” A vibrant, defiant rose blooms despite hardship, capturing the bittersweet contrast of pain and resilience. Designed with a vintage risograph and tattoo-inspired aesthetic, this series explores Daisy's raw emotions through bold, minimalistic art.

Day 2: Vices
Day 2: Vices—Today's illustration is inspired by Brand New’s haunting lyric, “Where’s all my hope and my marriage license?” A burning marriage license symbolizes lost innocence, broken promises, and irreversible change, while roses embody beauty and pain. Follow my daily Daisy-inspired art journey as I explore the album’s raw emotion through bold, symbolic designs.

Day 1: Daisy
I’ve started a personal art project inspired by Brand New’s Daisy. Each day, I’ll create an illustration based on one of the album’s songs or themes, drawing from the lyrics and mood of the record. I wanted to take this opportunity to share my journey with you all and get feedback from fellow fans who deeply connect with the band’s work.
The first piece in this series is my take on the lone fox featured on the album cover. It’s a simple yet striking design, leaning into the aesthetic of vintage American tattoos and early printmaking. I aimed to capture the spirit of Daisy with clean line work and bold textures while experimenting with @retrosupply Riso brushes. I wanted the image to feel raw, timeless, and a little wild—just like the album itself.
This project is a way for me to build up my art skills while creating quick and intentional designs. I’m also exploring a style that combines my love for dark themes with vibrant, minimalist imagery. If you’d like to follow along as I create more illustrations inspired by the songs. I’d love to hear your thoughts and connect with others who are as passionate about this album as me.
Thanks for taking a look! I’m excited to share more soon.
