Days 23-25: Turning Draw Down the Moon into One Epic Poster

Days 23-25: Turning Draw Down the Moon into One Epic Poster

Somehow, I’ve found myself deep in a monumental task—taking all my individual illustrations for Foxing’s Draw Down the Moon and merging them into one cohesive scene. What seemed like a simple idea at first has turned into a serious puzzle, but I think I’m finally wrapping my head around it.

The linework is coming together, but the real challenge? Coloring. That’s going to be the key to making this work. I’m figuring it out as I go, and I’m sharing the process along the way. Check out the videos in this post (or head to @drawn_to_noise on Instagram) to see my progress!

Even though I’m in the thick of this poster concept, I’m still drawing daily—just shifting my focus toward finalizing this piece. I’m starting to think this might be a new tradition: after finishing an album, I could spend up to a week creating a full poster that ties everything together. As long as I keep picking up the pen every day, it still fits the challenge.

I actually did this once before with Daisy by Brand New, creating a complete poster from my individual song illustrations. Now, I’m looking into offering a limited run of prints once I get a sample made. If that’s something you’d be interested in, stay tuned!

I’m excited (and a little overwhelmed), but I can’t wait to see how this turns out. Let me know what you think!
