Day 21 - If I Believed in Love (Foxing)
Day 21 – If I Believed in Love (Foxing)
Still pushing through my daily illustration project, and today’s piece is inspired by "If I Believed in Love" by Foxing. This one is a mix of mid-century modern aesthetics with 90s cartoon absurdity—because why not?
I focused on the lyric:
"I'd put my head in the sand / Until I'm left alone"
That immediately gave me this ridiculous visual of a guy literally sinking his head into the ground, and I wanted to push it even further by animating his neck stretching and disappearing into the sand. It’s goofy, but also a fun way to experiment with motion while keeping up with my goal of drawing something every day.
This project has been a mix of refining my style, improving technical skills, and just making things that entertain me. If nothing else, I’m getting better at animating weirdly elongated people.
Also, I recently rebranded my Instagram to @drawn_to_noise to match my new website: www.drawntonoise.com. If you’re into weird animations, daily illustrations, or just want to follow along, check it out!
Let me know what you think! Feedback, song recs, or general banter about the struggle of making art every day are all welcome.
